Description

The Senior Food Process Engineer develops and engineers equipment and processes used for handling or packaging food products. The Senior Food Process Engineer is responsible for project management, production line trouble shooting, administering budgeting, design, installation, qualification, and commissioning of new/modified process systems.

Responsibilities
 

  • Support existing processes and equipment
  • Conduct research to develop new and improved processes
  • Design and plan process flows, equipment requirements, and production layouts
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement events
  • Troubleshoot issues associated with manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Lead improvements in capacity utilization, production efficiencies
  • Develop and improve upon staffing/labor models for new and existing production part numbers. Work with finance during product costing exercises
  • Own part number routings and work standards
  • Lead procurement and launches of new equipment and processes. Prepare bid packages and make investment recommendations
  • Work with maintenance and local contractors on utilities requirements, rigging, installation, and manufacturing start-up activities
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations
     

Qualifications

Skills/requirements:
 

  • Bachelors of Engineering degree
  • 5+ years of experience with food processes and packaging
  • Experience in packaging IQF ingredients preferred
  • Strong AUTOCAD capability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
