Director of Sales

Job Type: Full-time; Hybrid  

As our Director of Sales, you will be responsible for leading growth while building, managing and developing the sales team.  This is a “hands-on” leadership role – you will also be responsible for selling and developing your own book of business.

Responsibilities:  

• Identify and generate new sales opportunities through targeting, outreach and relationship development
• Recruit, hire and build a strong sales team with clear expectations and accountabilities for goals, pipeline growth, and performance
• Manage the proposal process from Lead generation through successful close
• Develop your own book of business
• Review sales activities and prospective customers with management to ensure alignment with company strategy, forecasting, business plans and pipeline development
• Collaborate with team and management on trends in the logistics space

Experience:

• Minimum 20 years of sales experience relating to transportation – experience with freight payment and audit and TMS solutions are a plus
• Proven experience recruiting and leading a sales team with measurable successful results
• Strong sales skills – prospecting, presenting, negotiating and closing
• Must live in the Chicago area (city or surrounding suburbs) – this requires being in the office and engaged (Hybrid work environment)
• Travel required (as needed)

Compensation Details: This position offers a competitive base salary plus commission.
