Project Scope – Mobile App Rebuild (National Equity Fund)

Client is looking for a senior mobile engineer to independently rebuild an existing iPad app originally built in Xamarin (.NET) and Objective-C. Xamarin is deprecated, and MAUI upgrade attempts were unsuccessful, so this will be a full rebuild.

Project Overview

• Rebuild the app for iOS and Android using Flutter and React Native (open to native).

• Backend is fully built and hosted in Azure.

• Includes Esri map layers—most of this work is already done and can be recreated quickly by someone experienced.

• Light UX improvements needed (menu placement, layout cleanup). ~90% of redesign direction is already known.

• Search feature needs a full rebuild.

Expectations

• Operate autonomously and manage the project yourself (minimal PM support).

• Work directly with two internal contacts (Darren and Ed) who will provide everything needed.

• Deliver a production-ready rebuild; mostly lift-and-shift with a few improvements.

Timeline & Logistics

• Estimated duration: ~2.5 months.

• Start date is flexible (holidays approaching).

• Fully remote with flexible hours.

• Will pay up for the right senior person.

Ideal Candidate

• Senior-level, comfortable owning a rebuild end-to-end.

• Strong experience with Flutter, React Native, or native iOS.

• Familiar with Azure and Esri/GIS tools is a plus.

• Clear communicator and highly autonomous.
