Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Inside Sales Manager is a player/coach role responsible for leading, developing, and motivating the Inside Sales team while actively contributing to revenue growth. This role provides day-to-day leadership, coaching, and strategic direction to the team while also directly engaging with customers, prospects, and channel partners to drive business.
This role is critical to achieving aggressive growth goals by strengthening inside sales effectiveness, enhancing collaboration with the Outside Sales team, and ensuring a best-in-class customer experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development

Lead, mentor, and coach the Inside Sales team to achieve individual and team sales goals.

Set performance expectations, track KPIs, and provide regular feedback and coaching.

Foster a culture of accountability, growth, and a customer-first mindset.

Partner with HR and Sales Leadership on recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members.
Sales Execution (Player Role)

Act as a strategic partner to the Outside Sales team by driving coordinated sales plans focused on customer success, base business growth, and market share expansion.

Manage a portion of territories and accounts directly to model best practices and contribute to revenue.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities through outbound prospecting and lead follow-up.

Build and maintain strong relationships with representatives, channel partners, and customers.

Support the sales cycle with quoting, pricing, renewals, and pipeline management.
Process & Systems Management

Oversee use of Salesforce CRM, Interlynx POS, and ERP systems to ensure data integrity and effective pipeline management.

Analyze sales reports and provide executive summaries and insights to leadership.

Standardize inside sales processes, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
Collaboration & Market Insights

Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, and Application Engineering to delight customers.

Provide market intelligence and competitor insights to shape local sales strategy.

Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required; Business, Engineering, or Technical field preferred.

5–7 years of sales experience, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or management role.

Proven track record of building and leading high-performing Inside Sales or Commercial teams.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold teams accountable.

Commercial and technical mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction, growth, and execution.

Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite; ERP experience a plus.

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detail.

Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to supporting shared sales goals.

Willingness to learn technical product knowledge and stay informed on market trends.

Experience in industrial automation, B2B manufacturing, or channel sales is highly preferred.
