Position Overview

The Senior Application Engineer will play a key role in providing technical support and application expertise. Working closely with the Engineering Manager, this person will support the sales team, manufacturer reps, distributors, and end customers with product selection, application assistance, and troubleshooting field issues.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical expert for the product portfolio.

  • Provide phone and email support for product selection and application questions.

  • Troubleshoot product issues when they arise in the field.

  • Develop knowledge of communication protocols and deliver training as needed.

  • Deliver field product training alongside the sales team and distributors.

  • Conduct lab tests to confirm products meet customer requirements.

  • Participate in trade shows and customer visits, including occasional overnight travel.

  • Support special projects assigned by leadership.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or related discipline).

  • Minimum 5 years of application engineering experience in the controls industry.

  • Strong practical knowledge of electrical systems and their use.

  • Experience working with electricity up to 600VAC.

  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, etc.).

  • Electronics experience and familiarity with industry codes and standards.

  • PLC programming and communication protocol skills (IO-Link, Ethernet, etc.).

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Confident presenting in group environments.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.


Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 base salary plus 10% variable compensation
