Job Objective:
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for enhancing the region’s sales productivity and profitability. Key responsibilities include recruiting and developing an effective sales force, sales training, analytical reporting, budgeting, pricing optimization, CRM management, performance to budget, and sales compensation administration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and grow a best-in-class sales force focused on organic growth, increasing share of wallet, and new customer acquisition

  • Develop individual Sales Representatives through training, joint calls, and account strategy support

  • Provide regular feedback and performance management to achieve desired outcomes

  • Collaborate with Operations and Marketing to identify profitability trends and implement best practices

  • Monitor and recommend adjustments to sales compensation based on performance and trends

  • Ensure Sales Representative budgets align with branch budgets

  • Create and maintain documentation on sales compensation, policies, territories, and related materials

  • Deliver Performance Improvement Plans as needed

  • Build and maintain reporting tools for strategic analysis and internal reviews

  • Monitor and improve the accuracy and distribution of sales reporting and intelligence

  • Support pricing optimization by negotiating vendor contracts and working with centralized pricing teams

  • Enhance sales productivity through process improvements and new tool evaluation

  • Advance CRM adoption and compliance

  • Partner with Marketing on lead qualification and campaign analysis

  • Provide data on territory alignment, sales performance, and profitability

  • Assist with onboarding new branches as needed

Other Responsibilities:

  • Represent the company professionally and provide exceptional customer service

  • Comply with all company policies, safety regulations, and corporate initiatives

  • Work overtime as needed

Performance Measurements:

  • Volume and margin performance to budget

  • Regional organic growth

  • Performance to branded supplier goals

  • Cost of sales targets

  • Timely maintenance of sales analytics tools

  • Tracking and reporting gross profit gains

  • Completion of annual performance reviews

  • Additional metrics as defined

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 3+ years of experience in high-volume sales or sales operations leadership

  • Industry experience preferred

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams

  • CRM proficiency (Sage CRM or other platforms)

  • Familiarity with Power BI

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment with strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Skilled at translating high-level sales strategies into actionable processes

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Adaptability to rapid change and ambiguity

  • Excellent attention to detail and prioritization skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Travel: Up to 30% within the territory
