Warehouse General Manager – Job Description

The Warehouse General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our industrial wholesaling and manufacturing business. This includes managing the warehouse managers; overall inventory control, coordination with suppliers and customers, ensuring timely delivery of products, and optimizing operational efficiency. The Warehouse General Manager will also oversee the manufacturing process from start to finish, ensuring output meets quality and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages operations and maintenance staff, ensuring they have the necessary training and resources to perform their duties.
  • Takes ownership of the monthly shipments in all locations in line with the company’s sales budgets.
  • Manages the production and maintenance expense budgets for all warehouses.
  • Ensures adherence to company shipping and manufacturing procedures.
  • Seeks to minimize any mistakes made in operations.
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety protocols as well as any legal regulations.
  • Takes ownership of inventory control and coordinates inventory counts as the company needs.
  • Implements action plans to ensure cost-effective and high-quality production.
  • Reviews operational workflow, identifies areas for process improvement, and implements necessary changes.
  • Tracks performance metrics, identifies areas of underperformance, and creates plans to improve operations.
  • Provides timely performance reporting and analysis to company leadership.
  • Determines operations headcount needs and ensures compliance with company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience managing operations in an industrial wholesaling and/or manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Familiarity with inventory management, supply chain logistics, and lean manufacturing principles
  • Proficient in ERP systems and data analysis
