SAP PP Lead

Job Purpose:
The SAP PP Lead will play a critical role in overseeing the design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of the SAP PP/Production Planning module within the SAP S4 HANA platform. This position ensures alignment with organizational strategic objectives and serves as a subject matter expert in SAP PP. Responsibilities include validating business requirements across Production Planning, MRP, Demand Planning, Quality Management, and Manufacturing, proposing process standardization and efficiencies. This position is pivotal in driving SAP business transformation, ensuring successful adoption of SAP Production Planning processes using S4 HANA best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive the design, development, testing, and implementation of SAP PP/Supply Chain solutions, adhering to best practices.
  • Collaborate with business process leaders, consultants, and other functional and technical leads for Procure to Pay functionality in S4 HANA.
  • Lead and facilitate workshops, design sessions, and gap analysis based on business requirements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into SAP PP solutions.
  • Configure and customize SAP S/4HANA PP modules to meet business needs, ensuring system optimization.
  • Obtain buy-in from multiple functional leaders simultaneously on design decisions.
  • Document business requirements, functional specifications, and technical designs; develop comprehensive test cases.
  • Provide functional support for SAP PP, including Production Planning, Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Quality Management.
  • Execute S4 HANA configuration design, testing, and approvals for business performance optimization.
  • Support period-end and year-end activities, including reconciliation activities.
  • Conduct Functional testing, System Integration testing, and Regression testing to ensure system integrity.
  • Provide end-to-end support for SAP S/4HANA PP applications, including troubleshooting and regular system maintenance.

Physical Requirements:

  • General office environment with a majority of time spent using a computer.

  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
  • Adhere to workplace uniform requirements and safety gear when on the plant floor versus in the office.

Performance Expectations:

  • Ensure alignment with and adherence to the SAP S/4 HANA template.
  • Facilitate robust communication with finance stakeholders to design, build, and support financial solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with finance stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of SAP MM solutions.
  • Detailed understanding of SAP processes related to Production Planning, Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Quality Management.
  • Influence business process leaders towards leveraging standard SAP solutions.
  • Develop strong relationships with finance stakeholders to ensure SAP S/4 HANA template alignment and adoption.
  • Perform SAP PP configurations, write specifications for custom programs, coordinate transports, and provide post go-live support.
  • Ability to communicate SAP finance solutions in business language.

Skills and Work Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years of hands-on SAP implementation experience, specializing in SAP Production Planning functionality.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA 1909 and previous SAP ECC implementations.
  • Expertise in SAP PP modules (discrete manufacturing and/or PP-PI).
  • Experience in SAP PP/DS, MRP, Shop Floor Control, Capacity Planning, Quality Management.
  • Ability to integrate SAP PP with MM, WM, SD, FICO functional areas.
  • Knowledge of Production Planning master data, integration of SAP modules, and handling interfaces with non-SAP applications.
  • Familiarity with SAP MES preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
