Sr. Project Manager
About the Role
The Senior Project Manager is primarily responsible for ushering projects from initiation through to operational hand-off and ensuring stakeholder and customer satisfaction. Projects may use Waterfall,
Agile, or a hybrid project methodology. This role plays an integral part in establishing the necessary processes, coordinating with multiple teams, and appropriately mitigating risk to ensure success.
? Defines, designs, and documents current and future state business processes and data flow.
? Utilizes control planning and execution of the project’s activities and resources to ensure established cost, time, and quality goals are met.
? If an Agile project methodology facilitates Scrum ceremonies and Agile practices (such as daily stand-ups, sprint review meetings, retrospective meetings, cross-team coordination, etc.) alongside the product owner.
? Identifies, analyzes, and proposes solutions for risks and issues that may impact the project.
? Oversees the development and execution of system test cases, expected results, scripts, and plans.
? Communicates status, solutions, and concerns in a timely manner.
? Serves as a liaison between technical and functional stakeholders and project team members.
? Works with product owners to create epics and user stories.
? Develops relationships with the business to create trusted partnerships.
? Conducts feasibility studies need analysis and cost/benefit analysis for projects.
? Coordinates and works with vendors on specific activities as they pertain to the projects being worked on.
? Prepares, develops, and supports training materials.
? Keeps initiatives on track to meet planned timelines and budgets.
? Other duties as assigned.
? 5 to 10 years of experience as a Project Manager is required.
? Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or other related experience required.
? PMP or other PMI-related certification required.
? Applicable experience with Agile methodology.
? Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and presentation skills.
? Facilitation skills to run workshops and meetings to gain agreement on requirements and issues.
? Ability to interface with business, technical, and senior management level employees.
? Strong organizational and time management skills.
? Any experience with Kanban methodology preferred.
