Sr. DevOps Engineer

Salary Range : $130,000

Senior DevOps Engineer 

Role Objectives 

·         Supporting, building, and making more efficient the development, delivery and operationalization of the Platform 

·         Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health 

·         Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications 

·         Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions 

·         Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve 

·         Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large distributed software applications 

·         Provide technical leadership and support the engineering team’s Agile engineering efforts 


Responsibilities & Duties 

·         Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding 

·         Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures 

·         Responsible for ensuring new code and infrastructure is being written and architected according to the standards and overall technical plan 

·         Participate in architectural reviews, system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning 

·         Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts 

·         Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives 

·         Mentor team members in DevOps, site availability, and Agile software engineering best practices 

·         Coordinate with teams to build CICD pipelines 

·         Provide Tier 2 production support 


Required Skills & Qualifications 

·         Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other highly technical, scientific discipline 

·         Application performance management and logging frameworks, i.e. AppDynamics, NewRelic, or AWS Cloudwatch, ELK Stack 

·         Resource management frameworks, i.e. Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Python, Bask, Ansible 

·         AWS / public and private cloud technologies 

·         Java, Node.js, Angular, JavaScript 

·         Database technologies, i.e. NoSQL, RDBS 

·         Messaging technologies, i.e Redis, Kafka 

·         Jenkins and CICD pipelines 

·         Linux/Unix, Windows Server 

·         Designing for scalable architecture 

·         A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
