Senior Retention Marketer

Salary Range: $155,000 - $180,000

A company in Glendale, CA is seeking a Senior Retention Marketer to help run the Email and SMS Marketing channels. This position will develop, manage, and execute strategies to increase engagement, first-time purchases, retention, and LTV across various channels (website, Amazon, wholesale).

The role involves managing day-to-day email and SMS channel initiatives, including ideation, calendar planning, post-send analytics, and reporting. Responsibilities include partnering cross-departmentally to develop creative briefs, set up/QA/deploy batch and automation campaigns, testing and optimizing, and project management of CRM initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and copywriting skills, be data-driven, customer-centric, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

– Manage and execute batch, automated lifecycle, and transactional messaging across digital channels – email, SMS, and push notifications.
– Work cross-functionally with marketing and creative teams to brief, gather, develop, and build content for emails and SMS.
– Design and maintain email and SMS performance reporting for weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPI meetings.
– Analyze customer data and generate actionable insights and retention strategies based on cohorts, customer segments, and lifetime value.
– Evolve channels: Expand email and SMS plans to ensure strategies leverage the latest best practices and platform capabilities.
– Identify areas of opportunity through A/B testing and optimization.
– Create and optimize segmentation and personalization strategies within both batch and automated messages to identify opportunities to improve lifecycle campaigns.
– Partner with the marketing team and media buyers to develop and monitor new initiatives focused on driving healthy list growth.
– Partner with graphic artists to manage and oversee all aspects of email development, provide insight on industry best practices, and help with email copywriting.
– Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

– **EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:** Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related subject required.

– **EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:** 5+ years of related experience in Email and SMS Marketing or a proven track record of growing email and SMS channels for an e-commerce brand.

  – Expertise in working with ESP platforms, specifically Klaviyo.
  – Experience working with SMS platforms, particularly Attentive.
  – Knowledge in HTML and CSS for email development.
  – Experience in creating and maintaining automated workflows.
  – Strong analytical skills.
  – Proficiency in Excel and data tools.
  – Confident knowledge of Google Analytics.
  – Strong project management skills; must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  – Self-starter, highly motivated, and must thrive in a fast-growing company.
