Network Administrator

The Network Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day network operation. Responsibilities include maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, VLAN, WAN, SD-WAN and Tier 2 network support. This position also responsible for network security and assessing anticipated network growth.

Responsibilities

  • Design network as required
  • Spec out required hardware
  • Install, configure and maintain routers, switches and firewalls
  • Low voltage wiring (Office / Plant)
  • Creation and maintenance of VPNs (User / Site)
  • Plant expansion (IDFs, WAPs, etc)
  • WAN / SD-WAN (Fiber, Cable, Cellular)
  • Phone System (Install / Config / Maintain)
  • VOIP traffic including QOS
  • POTS / PRIs for Fax and emergency (Elevator / 911)
  • Wireless (WAC, SSIDs, Subnets)
  • Security (Network)
  • Monitoring (PRTG or other tools)
  • Network device backups
  • Maintenance (Patches / Firmware)
  • Assist with EDI (Network config only)
  • Building access control
  • Work with ISPs (Install, configuration changes, outages)
  • Support D365 (Network only)
  • Document solutions – Create a knowledge base of issues / solutions
  • Second level support (Helpdesk, Network)
  • External DNS / Domain

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of network experience
  • Must be proficient in Cisco routers, switches and firewalls
  • ASA high availability experience is preferred
  • SD-WAN experience required
  • Cisco CCNA required, CCNP a plus
  • Self-starter, enthusiastic, able to juggle multiple projects at a time
  • Network monitoring experience preferred
  • Experience with DNS, domains and SSL certs preferred
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Strong analytical skills, organizational skills and the ability to problem solve, multitask, and prioritize.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Sonicwalls a plus
