CNC Operator

Level I 

• Capable of reading blueprints and related drawings

• Use of inspection equipment (callipers, micrometres, bore gauges, etc.)

• Turning machine On and Off

• Recognize when worn out tooling needs to be replaced

• Loading and unloading parts without damaging part or machine

• Capable of lifting 70+ lbs

• Basic Math skills

• Problem solving skills

• Capable of using cranes

• Material Handling

• Deburring and cleaning parts at the machine while machining when longer run times allow it

• Fill out and maintain all documentation with job traveller (Inspection reports & Time sheets)

• First piece inspection

• Report to Shop manager

• P&M of machines

• Maintaining clean and safe work area

• Support all manufacturing capabilities (milling, turning, etc.)

Level II

• Everything listed in Level I

• Setting tool offsets

• Adjusting wear offsets for tools

• Load programs into CNC machines

Level III

• Everything listed in Level I and II

• Adjusting programs as needed

• Simple programming at the machine

• Assisting Programmers

• Assisting Setup Operators

• Program optimizing
