Salary Range: $26,000 - $27,000

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Billing Coordinator provides support as needed to the Billing Representatives. Supports the Billing Manager and staff in day-to-day operations. Responsible for staff training.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs at subject matter expert level on all Insurance Representative duties.
  • Oversees processing of insurance accounts receivable, daily payment posting, distribution of daily receivables, and deposits.
  • Assigns and monitors work of the Billing Representative; ensures timely completion of their work; resolves operations problems; implements new procedures.
  • Monitors back-end revenue cycle processes with the guidance of the Billing Manager  
  • Assists in recruiting: provides initial and ongoing staff training and new employee orientation; stays abreast of changes and updates to provide staff with the most accurate coaching and training; maintains training/reference manuals.
  • Multispecialty experience and strong excel experience
  • Assists with monitoring successful charge capture on the front-end and clean claim submission.
  • Provides quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.
  • Models and supports PediaTrust Core Values and coaches others to do the same

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma required
  • Strong knowledge of Insurance follow-up, payor denials, and appeals preferred
  • Knowledge of Epic and/or other EHR systems preferred
  • Some knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 diagnosis coding preferred
  • Strong knowledge and level of comfort with Microsoft Word and Excel strongly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and high level of organizational skills required

Required Length & Type of Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of medical billing experience required
