About the Department Our Technology Solutions (TS) Department is dedicated to crafting and implementing cutting-edge technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency, manage risk, and boost revenue for the company. We are also responsible for upholding a robust Cyber Security program in alignment with the NIST Cyber Security Framework.
Within Technology Solutions, our focus encompasses superior technical innovation through inventive application designs, seamless data integration and analytics, resilient infrastructure, and high-quality service for our stakeholders. Key responsibilities include Project Management, Vendor Management, Business Analysis, Enterprise Data Governance and Stewardship, Application Development, 3rd Party Integration, and Strategic and Secure Infrastructure and Operations. The Technology Solutions team collaborates closely with company leadership and business unit heads to develop strategies aligned with business objectives.
Role Summary We are seeking a skilled professional to join our Technology Solutions Department as an Assistant Vice President, specifically to contribute to our Application Development Technology Team dedicated to our Investment Management / Valuations division. In this role, you will acquire an in-depth understanding of the business processes and technology solutions of our Investment Management Teams, identify existing challenges and technological gaps, and provide innovative solutions and excellent service to these teams. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst, adept at supporting users across various levels and collaborating closely with development teams.
The successful candidate should exhibit strong critical thinking skills, possess an inquisitive and diligent nature, be passionate about providing outstanding service, display self-initiative and resourcefulness, have a robust understanding of technology, and be enthusiastic about building expertise in relevant technology solutions. This client-facing role involves managing relationships and delivering results to business stakeholders throughout the organization, including senior leadership. Exceptional verbal and written communication and documentation skills are crucial for success in this role, as it entails presenting information confidently to senior executives.
Responsibilities
- Rapidly become a subject matter expert in GCIM’s core business functions and the associated technology solutions
- Analyze and comprehend intricate business processes, translating them into coherent and understandable formats
- Create comprehensive requirements documentation, including user stories, use cases, design specifications, business process flows, and success criteria
- Develop visual representations such as business process flow diagrams and technical architecture diagrams using tools like Visio
- Independently conduct complex data analysis across multiple platforms using Excel and other relevant tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL)
- Oversee the resolution of support issues raised by the business within defined support SLAs
- Display resourcefulness in engaging experts and available resources to achieve goals
- Foster productive relationships with key stakeholders, executive sponsors, technology peers, and vendors, conveying pain points, requirements, and process enhancements succinctly
- Ensure all delivered solutions adhere to quality standards and fulfill specified business requirements through rigorous validation and testing, both independently and collaboratively with end users
- Collaborate closely with development teams and vendors to clarify requirements and guarantee application delivery aligns with desired business specifications
- Grasp the interconnections, dependencies, and influence of related business functions in your scope of responsibility
- Demonstrate adept multitasking, time and priority management, and influencing skills under pressure and in deadline-driven scenarios
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Computer Science, Business, or related field) and 8-12 years of similar experience, ideally within Financial Services with exposure to investment valuation processes
- Previous experience and familiarity with cloud-based systems and processes
- Demonstrable expertise in business analysis and project management, preferably within the Financial Services sector
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on fostering positive relationships across technology and business teams
- Proven track record in performing intricate data analysis; strong grasp of relational databases, including experience in writing SQL queries and using related query tools
- Profound understanding of the software development lifecycle, with experience collaborating with hybrid teams, including internal staff and third-party vendors
- Familiarity with Power BI reporting environment, encompassing reporting, dashboarding, and data visualization
- Significant exposure to revenue-generating organizations, particularly within the financial services domain
- Proactive self-starter with a “can-do” attitude and willingness to tackle tasks of any size
- Results-oriented with a high level of personal accountability
