Manages: Managers, Engineers & Software Engineers in Test
Other Major Relationships: Product Management, Scrum Masters, QA, UX, Documentation
 Objectives: Manage a highly skilled team architects and managers to deliver and maintain enterprise solutions in the e-discovery space. As a senior member of the engineering team you will contribute to product architecture and design. Responsible for commitment to an Agile release schedule and resource management. Also responsible for communicating status to senior management on a regular basis.As a member of a cross functional management team you will contribute to product strategy and help define standards, best practices, and processes for the Product Development department. You will also interact and coordinate with functional teams on a daily basis.
Responsibilities: This section captures the 6 to 9 primary responsibilities performed in this position. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties but instead reflects roughly 70% to 90% of the type of work.
The Director is responsible for delivering results for the Product Development department by:
· Acquiring, onboarding and allocating resources· Managing advancement and deployment of specific disciplines and technologies · Assessing strength of products and long term risk· Actively participating in the engineering process· Leading global direction and changes 
The Director performs the following functions, in addition to others, in the administration of their position:
· Manage a team of development managers and architects· Support our management team's initiatives and responsibilities· Plan for promotion and salary adjustments· Identify and improve inefficiencies in PD processes· Organize quarterly all-hands meetings for Engineering team and other team building meetings· Organize weekly tactical meetings for Engineering team · Help with strategic planning for Engineering team· Help scrum teams connect the dots · Mature our internal recruitment and on-boarding processes· Support the VP by leading special projects and/or providing input regarding possible process improvements, organization changes, resource needs, etc. · Establishment of measures· Manage software licenses with IT

· Excellent Knowledge of the new technology trends and its applications for the new products in the market place.

· Excellent Knowledge of Software Engineering Discipline, including hands-on knowledge of Latest Programming Languages, Object-Oriented Programming, High-Performance, Fault-tolerant Distributed Systems, Data Structures and Algorithms, Operating Systems, Distributed DBMS and DB modeling and access languages.

· Strong Problem Solving skills, independent thinking

· Proficiency and Hands-on experience with the latest software engineering technologies related to their feature set or domain

· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related disciplines· 10+ years of software development of commercial-grade systems and applications with a proven track record of building and leading successful engineering teams
