Development Manager - Global Services Firm

The IT Manager â Development will apply existing expertise from technical and project related skills to lead and develop a team of technical individual contributors.  The IT Manager â Development is also responsible for working with the Group Director to develop and refine group strategy, budgets, and performance goals.

This person will have direct reports and also be responsible for leading cross-functional efforts with others in the Applications Systems group.  This person will be responsible for teaming with the Director of Applications Systems to manage a global IT team integrating, building, and supporting systems that are the foundation to the long-term strategy of the Leadership Advisory business.This person will help assess the needs of the business and look for opportunities to develop and grow the business through effective use of technology. He/she will investigate feasibility of new technology related requests along with determining best ways to integrate to existing solutions. Based on the breadth and depth of understanding of business needs and processes, they collaborate with other teams to determine if solutions currently exist (internally or externally) or whether new solutions are needed.

This person works with architects, developers, and others in the IT organization throughout the lifecycle to deliver quality, standards-compliant software specifications and design. This position reports to the Direction of Applications Systems. This position represents a unique opportunity for a successful candidate to join a team integrating and building new systems that are the foundation to the long-term strategy of the business.

Specific Responsibilities

à              Provide technical/project expertise on designated programs and projects.  This may comprise approximately 60 percent of the personsâ time

à   Work with Director to provide technical and strategic leadership for products and projects for which the team is responsible

à   Work with Director to manage project and personnel related budgets

à   Work with Director to prioritize projects and manage team's project portfolio.

à   Resolve issues with wide impacts.  Coach others to build similar problem-solving skills

à   Manage a team of Developers with hands-on responsibilities in Force.com, SharePoint, SQL, BI and Data Warehouse (4 individuals)

à   Manage team work and team resources using appropriate tools and processes for request management and resource management

à   Lead individuals through the individual performance goal setting process

à   Coach and mentor team members through regular one-to-one conversations to ensure that individual goals are met or revised as appropriate

à   Lead regular team meetings

à   Create/implement/refine team processes, ensuring that processes align with other teams within the department and across IT

à   Perform basic team administration tasks, including timecard and expense approval

à   Responsible for proactively identifying technology opportunities that impact business strategies and performance

à   Work in partnership with business and IT clients to understand and communicate project strategies, goals and objectives

à   Act as a liaison with Business clients and manage these relationships

à   Determine and manage strategy for environment management, release management, systems support and other related processes

à   Serve as knowledgeable resource to stakeholders and IT regarding product capabilities, business processes, change impacts and integration with other systems

The Person

Successful candidates will have a combination of

Qualifications & Experience

à   An undergraduate degree is required; prefer Management Information Systems,  Computer Science, or related discipline

à   10-15+ years of experience in a technical role with at least 5 years in team management working with large, complex, or enterprise projects in a corporate environment

à   Consulting background preferred

à   Ability to rapidly learn and understand the business

à   Experience working and collaborating with global IT and business teams

à   Minimum of 3 years SFDC experience with Development, Design and Architecture, including Configuration, Customization, Triggers, Workflow, Data Migration and Data Integration.

à   Experience creating custom user interfaces with VisualForce; developing custom business logic in APEX.

à   Experience with interactive 3rd party App Exchange Apps with Salesforce.

à   Proven experience and background working on large SFDC implementations

à   Certified Force.com Developer or other Salesforce.com certifications a plus

à   Integration skills are essential

à   SharePoint development knowledge is strongly desired.

à   Data Warehouse/BI background is preferred.

à   Hands-on fluency in Microsoft Office Suite including Project, PowerPoint, and Visio
